GJ Red Claw - BtAS by ginsujustice GJ Red Claw - BtAS by ginsujustice
Red Claw with one nuclear missile is scary, but with three is just downright terrifying! I know she only appeared in 3 episodes of "Batman: The Animated Series", but she was my favorite because she didn't play around. I just wish they had more episodes with her in it... I guess she didn't have enough of a personality to garner more attention though.

Thanks to LT for helping me out with some advice on the colors!

Ah Red Claw, too bad she didn't reach popularity like Harley Quinn did. But at least Kate Mulgrew found her calling as Flemeth in Dragon Age besides her Captain Janeway.

I always thought she was quite sexy when i was 11 and she looks just like Baroness from GI Joe without the glasses. Who agrees?

Ah I remeber her, a very serious villain, and agree it was a shame she did not appear more, I can think that partly it's down that the Batman series was there to promote it's main DC comic adapted content (Joker, Penguin etc) So they take a higer priority understandably, though that said animated series made harley quinn into a offical cannon character. So I think it's a case that they didn't know how to properly write her out or her organaztion, characters like her with a strong setting can be VERY popular.

One of the best examples is Slade from Teen Titans he was written in quite well, Slade clothing, design and his philopshy fitted into the modern era TT was set in.

Looking back at the batman series it was still stuck between 30's mobster storylines whilst trying to tread out Batman onto 'international' threats. Ra's al Ghul was one of those elements but he wasn't as miltiristic in apperance or intent as the Red Claw, also (with style aside) the two have similir organaztions so it was a clash over the other and that the Red Claw i think was suited to a more modern setting because even her henchmen lacked any credible association with her her or what she represented.. If the Red Claw was slowly brought in as the paymaster behind Gothom's corruption for a buildup for a more sinister agenda then i think she may have a longer lasting time in the DC animated series.

Though brief she has the membroable scene of taking off batman's maskand came VERY close to discovering his idenity that was a great finalie to the lion and the unicorn episode (I think that was the correct name) That part alone could had been followed up well on a idea of a what if someone had figured out that Bruce Wayne IS Batman. (not really done till the return of the joker movie but that touched the issue lightly)

artwise good work, she's drawn with a strong posture and to me she looks almost bored, almost thinking as if this was to be too easy, but the batman signal at the back adds a nice foreshadowing of what will stop her.

As much as I'd love to see her appear in comics, it just wouldn't be the same without Kate Mulgrew rockin' the Baroness accent :XD: This is an excellent tribute to a underappreciated character. :salute:

She's probably the ONLY Batman character I even like in the history of Batman characters. Very awesome rendition of her.
