Almost 1 year to the date of my previous journal entry.
A lot of stuff has been happening. My computer is still a flaming turd and I have been saving up to get a new computer with better memory and storage. Also less viruses and bugs would be nice, too.
I do have some pictures that I've worked on over the last year, but they are stuff that I am hesitant to post because most of it is for my wife and some commissions for clients. Other than that, I haven't been working on too much because work has been so hectic. All of that is about to change though. I will be starting a new job next week. There will be a transition period, both with moving and getting trained up on my job, but after that, I should have a lot more opportunities to do some art. That being said, I've had a lot of time to reflect on the direction my art has been going and I've decided that I need to get back to basics. I kind of lost focus on what was important to me during my time posting artwork online (even pre-dating my existence here on dA). I haven't really been exploring what makes me happy or coming up with original concepts that much anymore. I haven't really branched out to try new techniques, subjects, or themes. Basically, I've allowed my muse to atrophy.
I guess all that is to say that I am going to kind of take some time to find my stride again. I still have some obligations that I need to fulfill, but outside of those, I'll be really working to find my self in my art. What that means for you? Probably nothing because I haven't really been all that active anyway, but I will post things that I want to share with friends whenever I think it would be something I could benefit with some technical inputs.
All in all, this journal is more or less designed to tell you that I am alive and well, but I will be kind of lurking until I think I am ready to start publishing some art again.
As always, thank you for stopping by and reading my ramblings and I hope you enjoyed the time you spent here. I really appreciate you choosing to spend it here and I hope you found something to your liking in my gallery.
