I have been lurking and continue to do so, but this time, I feel like something is growing inside me. A new found love of art that is slow to grow, but I'm eager for it to fully blossom. I have been working on a few new things here and there, but I've mostly been looking at things and trying to get a better understanding and a new approach. A few of my online friends have been a blessing in this aspect of my artistic growth (I don't have to name names, you know who you are).
I appreciate all the time that everyone has spent looking at my art, commenting, faving, or just sending a friendly note. While I'm not ready to post art here yet, I still find it comforting that people like my older works. Once I get to a point where I'm satisfied with what I create, I'll begin posting again.
As for other news, I finally got a new computer about a month ago. I like it so far and its got most everything I want; space, speed, and quality colors. I'm not a PC or Mac guy (although I do own a lot of Mac stuff), but I have to say that this iMac is probably the best computer I've worked on for graphics.
Also, I started my job as an graphic illustrator instructor about a year ago and its going well. I've had a lot of fun teaching and learning. When it comes to this graphic design stuff, you HAVE to be a student of the craft. It comes naturally for some, but even natural talent will only take you so far in this ever changing and fast paced job. Always new programs to learn and techniques to explore. I feel that I've grown a lot from this job and I still have a few more years to go before my contract is up. I can't wait to see where this job will take me!
Well, I'm going to get back to the lab and practice some different techniques. I can't promise it won't be another year, but I can promise that once I'm ready to come back, it'll be with some artwork that I'll be proud to call my own! I wish you all the best and thank you again for stopping by and showing love.
